Schools' competition winners

The time has come to announce the results of's exciting and fun competition for schools, launched last October.

We asked pupils throughout Scotland to let the world to know about the city, town, village or area they lived in and what they liked best about it.

. We were delighted with the response and, after much deliberation, we were forced to choose three worthy winners.

First prize goes to Rory Fraser, of Bankhead Academy, Aberdeen. Rory wins a 100 voucher for his excellent, informative article on the Oil Capital of Europe. Well done, Rory.

Second prize of 75 was won by Kayleigh T. Miller, of Kirkcaldy High School, for her lively article about the "Lang Toun". Congratulations, Kayleigh.

Third prize of 50 goes to Katie O'Malley, of Gleniffer High School, Paisley, for her persuasive piece about the historic "buddies" town. Very well done, Katie.
